Decaffeinated Coffee Found to Contain Caffeine

Are you trying to stay away from caffeine? Do you drink decaf as a substitute? Then you are probably getting more than you bargained for!

Recent studies have now shown that decaffeinated coffee actually contains caffeine. Researchers analyzed ten 16-oz decaffeinated drip coffees from both national and local coffee shops. Except for Folgers Coffee Crystals, all the other decaf coffees contained from 8.6 mg to 13.9 milligrams of caffeine. A regular cup of caffeinated coffee contains about 85 mg of caffeine.

These results show that individuals who drink 5 to 10 cups of decaf coffee are actually consuming the same amount of caffeine as one to two cups of regular coffee. If you are avoiding caffeine due to medical reasons, it is best to avoid any form of coffee, whether it is caffeinated or not.
