Have you ever put a cd in your computer and realized it was slightly crooked just as you pushed it in? This can cause your cd drive to stick, no matter how many times you push the eject button. But did you know there is a secret to opening these drives? One of the best tools a computer technician can have is an ordinary paper clip, which is used just for this situation. Bend the side of the paperclip so it is sticking out straight. Now look at your cd drive. Do you see the little hole in it? Gently push your paperclip into the hole and move it around until you feel a soft button inside. Press the button with the end of the paperclip. This will pop the drive open just enough for to manipulate the disk and get the tray fully open.
