Trampoline Recall

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, CPSC, and Bravo Sports have announced a recall on October 7th, 2010 after a fall hazard was found to be present in around 160,000 trampolines.

The fall hazard discovered involves incorrectly assembled trampolines that can cause the top legs and rails to bend or break while being used.

According to the CPSC, ìThis recall involves AirZone and Variflex trampolines with model numbers 137083 (with wheels), 137536, 137683, 138088, 138467, 138472, 138489, 139275, 139283, 139284, 139300 and 139706. The model number is found on the safety label sewn to the pad cover. The units are 12′, 13′ and 14′ and come in blue, yellow and red.

The recall involves items advertised at retail stores and sporting good stores nationwide and online, sold in the time period of January ’07 through September of this year at around a market price of $200 – 400 dollars.

Consumers whom have purchased the items involved in the recall are asked to contact Bravo Sports directly to receive instructions on how to check the trampoline for any damage or incorrect assembly. Any damage or error in assembly will result in replacement of the items for free by the supplier.
